I started this firm to do one thing well: keep people in their homes when a lender has decided they should leave.

Foreclosure defense is a strange corner of the law. The other side is usually a high-volume firm running thousands of files on templates, and the client is usually one person having the worst year of their life. The gap between those two things is where cases are won - not by outspending anyone, but by reading a file that nobody on the other side has read closely, and by knowing which motion actually fits the posture the case is in.

I handle intake personally, which means the person you talk to in the first conversation is the lawyer responsible for the strategy in your case. I set the litigation strategy and I appear in court. When your case has a hearing, I am the one at it.

Admitted and practicing:

 Admitted in 2009, I appear regularly in the Chancery Division's Mortgage Foreclosure Section at the Daley Center and in the foreclosure calendars of DuPage and Will counties.

How the firm is built:

Rai Law is organized so that court defense and loss mitigation run in parallel rather than one after the other, with dedicated capacity behind each - litigation and filings on one side, the servicer relationship and the modification application on the other. It is deliberately more infrastructure than a solo foreclosure practice usually carries, and it exists because these cases are lost on missed dates more often than on bad arguments.
