What Foreclosure Defense Costs
People in foreclosure have been burned by companies that took money up front and did nothing. So here is how we charge, before you call.
The case review is free:
Including pulling your court file and reading it. There is no charge and no obligation, and if we do not think you need a lawyer we will say so.
Foreclosure defense - flat or monthly:
Defense of the court case is quoted as a defined fee, not an open hourly meter, so you know what you are committing to. Where a flat fee is not workable for a household, a monthly structure is available. The quote comes after we have seen the file, because the file is what determines the work.
Loan modification and loss mitigation:
Handled as its own engagement, added to the defense representation for clients who want the modification pursued as well. It is priced separately because it is genuinely separate work - the application, the servicer, the deadlines and the appeals.
Probate, title and other litigation:
Matters outside the foreclosure itself - opening an estate, a title action, a claim against a private lender - are engaged separately and quoted when we know what is involved.
What you will always get in writing:
A written retainer agreement stating the scope of the representation and the fee, sent to you for electronic signature. Nothing begins before you have read it and signed it. If the scope changes later, that goes in writing too.
